and then there were four

Reading about how Brittany Higgins was sexually assaulted whilst intoxicated, vulnerable, and unable to give consent IN PARLIAMENT HOUSE made me furious. This, unsurprisingly, has not been the end of the story. We are now up to the fourth woman coming forward about an assault from the same man. This sexual predator clearly believed (for seemingly good reason) that he could push his unsolicited and unwanted sexual advances towards his female colleagues with impunity because he would be protected by a culture that protects male privilege, a culture that values the perception of decency over actual decency.

The case will be before the courts and will be subject to some sort of enquiry within the parliament (hopefully not watered down). This is now an opportunity for real change - I only hope it doesn't get stuffed up again...
